Education, 2-Year Transfer, Early Childhood

Mission Statement
The mission of the Vincennes University Teacher Education program is to prepare competent, caring, reflective practitioners who have the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to educate students in a multicultural society.  As advocates for students and their families, candidates will be able to meet the students’ individual learning and behavioral needs, create safe learning communities, and provide valuable service to the community and others. Through a wide range of experiences, candidates will design, implement, and evaluate best practices in instruction and assessment, utilize equitable and inclusive educational practices, collaborate effectively, and be creative problem solvers.  VU teacher candidates are prepared to be reflective, life-long learners who value the dignity of all students and believe all students can learn.  Upon completion of this degree, students may transfer to a four-year institution or enter the workforce as a paraprofessional.
