Conservation Law Enforcement

Mission Statement

The mission of the Vincennes University Conservation Law Enforcement program is to provide a diverse population of students with the essential knowledge and skills to become a Conservation Officer.  The curriculum is designed to educate students to protect citizens and conserve our natural resources through lectures, labs, conservation law enforcement specific techniques such as marlinspike, land and water rescue and research.

Program Learning Outcomes
Students who complete course work in the Conservation Law Enforcement program will be able to:

  • apply appropriate policing techniques. 
  • demonstrate the ability to communicate with a diverse crowd.
  • apply both state and federal fish and wildlife laws.
  • synthesize a plan of action for realistic scenarios in the marine environment.
