Computer Programming Technology

Mission Statement

The mission of the Vincennes University Computer Programming Technology program is to train students from diverse backgrounds to write programs, update, repair, and modify programs, and to expand existing programs.  Through hands-on lab experiences, students will learn foundational concepts, techniques, and skills of computer programming and database management. Upon graduation, these students will be prepared to enter the job market as computer programmers or possess the ability to transfer to a four year institution.

Program Learning Outcomes

Students who complete course work in the Computer Programming Technology program will be able to:     

  • develop database applications.
  • perform positively in group situations.
  • analyze user software requirements.
  • create programs for users.
  • create functional web sites.
  • analyze software and hardware errors.
  • analyze and design networking architecture.
