Business Administration

Mission Statement
The mission of the Vincennes University Business Administration program is to prepare students to transfer into baccalaureate business programs or to become competitive participants in the business environment. Through course work and labs, students will learn foundational business concepts and principles in financial and managerial accounting, business law, computer concepts, economics, and business statistics. Students will use  these fundamental concepts along with general education courses to develop critical thinking skills to become competitive participants at their chosen transfer institution and to become valued members of today’s dynamic business environment.  

Program Learning Outcomes
Students who complete course work in the Business Administration program will be able to:

  • Utilize quantitative reasoning tools and analysis to solve business problems and make business decisions.
  • Communicate effectively in a wide variety of business settings employing multiple media.
  • Recognize ethical issues in business and utilize thoughtful decision making for sustainable and socially responsible behavior.
  • Analyze the interconnectedness of global and local communities.
  • Understand the broad contexts of business and the specific knowledge, skills, and activities necessary to effectively function in the marketplace.
  • Develop a range of professional and interpersonal skills needed in business settings.
  • Indentify and use appropriate technology to communicate and solve business problems and aid in decision making.
  • Synthesize and analyze information and ideas from multiple sources and perspectives to solve challenging problems.
  • Use teamwork skills to participate effectively in team problem-solving and decision making situations.
