Precision Machining Technology

Mission Statement

The mission of the Vincennes University Precision Machining program is to provide students with a broad background in manual and CNC machining.  Students will be able to apply concepts, terminology, and write machining programs.  Students will also be able to set-up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment.  This is accomplished through course work and hands-on lab exercises.

The Precision Machining program also provides an avenue for students to continue their education by pursuing either a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology through Vincennes University, or a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology degree through Purdue University or enter directly into the workforce.

Program Learning Outcomes
Students who complete course work in the Precision Machining program will be able to:

  • apply terminology used in Precision Machining.
  • solve machining problems.
  • create machining programs.
  • organize tasks to increase efficiency.
