Aviation Maintenance - Indianapolis

Mission Statement
The mission of the Vincennes University Aviation Maintenance program is to prepare students for successful completion of the FAA certification process for the Airframe and Powerplant Certificate and for successful job entry into the aviation maintenance field. The required course work and laboratory experiences provide graduates with the knowledge and practical experience to begin a career inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft.

Program Learning Outcomes
Students who complete course work in the Aviation Maintenance program will be able to: 

  • demonstrate an understanding of aircraft theory, systems, and components.
  • apply the manipulative skills learned to maintain and repair aircraft.
  • assess aircraft, systems, and components to determine airworthiness.
  • demonstrate an understanding of Federal Aviation Administration policy, regulations, and industry standards.
