Architectural Studies/CAD

Mission Statement
The mission of the Vincennes University Architectural Studies Technology program is to prepare students with the technical skills necessary to enter careers in architecture, engineering, construction, or other related areas. Students will be able to apply concepts, construction terminology, construction calculations, basic building design, and the production of construction documents for residential and commercial projects. The Architectural Studies program also provides an avenue for students to continue their education by pursuing either a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology through Vincennes University or earning an accredited Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies degree through Southern Illinois University.

Program Learning Outcomes
Students who complete course work in the Architectural Studies/CAD program will be able to:

  • produce construction documents.
  • design construction drawings with industry standard software.
  • apply appropriate building codes.
  • apply the basic principles of design.
  • create construction documents.
